My recent article regarding the Pope's views on gay marriage was written before any news had come forth regarding his return to the hospital and resulting tracheotomy. My first instinct was to connect my writing with his ill health. That simply cannot be the case.

It was not my intent nor my continuing intent to wish him ill. I only hold that some of his views of current events in the world to be more divisive than increasing the ability to bring people together.
